Does health have to do with only the current, or does it also involve sediments of the future or past? This may seem like a strange question because the future has not happened yet, so how do you experience any effects from it now? But a lot people consider the past and the future like both these time intervals share equal space with the current on a metaphoric sofa of life.
Towards a better life
This guide, however, isn’t about mindfulness meditation or practicing consciousness at all times so you can remain in the present. For better or for worse, we’re human beings and our ideas linger on the past and project to the future to various extents. So this occurs, and possibly our companion cats and dogs do not ponder these topics, but we do. That’s why you might feel a small twinge when you see your cat scratching themselves in the sun like life could not get any better.
Keep on following your dreams
Among the topics that our individual minds focus on the most is that of dreams, past, present and future. A fantasy, aka what each person wants to shoot for in life, can be a component that brings the spark of wellness and action into our lives, but it could also bring twinges of fear, sorrow, guardedness, and other catchy feelings. What if you needed to be a rock star as a teen and it did not occur? You still love songs, however, and don’t wish to give this up. Maybe you loved drawing over anything growing up, but it was hard to channel that talent into a career. You don’t need to stop growing on your artwork and that you are as an artist. Perhaps you found the career you always desired, but there are still talents you believe have been left handed and lingering, waiting for a socket.
That fantasy is in your back-burner, but perhaps you have wondered if it is better left burnt instead. Don’t burn it. It’s okay to let go of previous persuasions of doing this or that, but it isn’t required to kick the true dream to the curb. What does this mean? A past persuasion is something we felt sure we should do or think, based on our expectations or those of others. Be a basketball star, become a lawyer, be a rock star, become a college professor, become a doctor or engineer, be a politician. The Be’s could be embedded in yesteryear, and if they came true or not, they are not the complete story of our actual dreams. A dream frequently involves expressing your true talent in whatever manner you can. We can get hung up on the be’s and the regrets we have surrounding them, so much so that we dismiss the dreams and abilities which are still alive and kicking.
Potential for your wellbeing
These regrets can often influence our health, how we treat ourselves, and how much credit and respect we show ourselves. A dream does not have to be constrained by time. Channel it in the face of all the be’s and the previous persuasions which might have gone by now. Maybe you did not get an opportunity to follow the specific paths you envisioned for yourself growing up, but that is okay. You can not get back the time that has flowed by, or restrain the time that’s going to flow from tomorrow onward. But today you’ve got potential for the dreams and your wellbeing.
