    Migraine headaches can be the most severe type of pain. Not all migraine treatments are created equally. You might find that traditional migraine headache treatments don’t work for you, you dislike prescribed medications and their side effects, and you need something to ease the pain until your medication begins to work. You can find natural remedies to relieve the pain and get back into your normal life.

    Warm/Cold Compress/Towel: Migraines can be caused by irregular dilation or constriction of blood vessels. You can use the different compresses together to normalize the vascular system. Cold temperatures can constrict blood vessels and reduce blood flow, while warm temperatures dilate blood vessels to increase blood flow. For 10 minutes, apply a cold compress to your forehead or back.

    Then switch to a warmer one. Warm water can be used to warm your feet and apply a cold compress to your forehead.

    Acupressure

    For a few seconds, hold the flesh between your thumb and forefinger with one hand. For 2 minutes, you can have someone push 2 points on your neck that are 2 inches apart. For a quick reminder, think 2-2-2.

These remedies will not interact with any prescription medication. However, it is best to consult your doctor. These treatments may not work for everyone, but they are likely to have fewer side effects than other medications.
