Acne is the most common skin condition in adolescents and young adults aged 12 to 35. Acne can affect both men and women, but it is more common in girls. Acne is more prominent in puberty and adolescence, when the glands (endocrine), that control the secretions of sebaceous glands, are at their peak activity. Acne is thought to be caused by a combination of hormonal, genetic and bacterial factors.
