We keep hearing about the importance of the power of positive thinking. All motivational gurus tell us that being positive is an essential to our success and finding joy. It’s necessary for our everyday stress management. The Secret is a bestselling book and film describing in detail the advantages of believing that things can and will occur. But with all the talk, we still do not know how to banish those negative ideas.

    Attitude factor

A positive attitude may add healthy happy years to our lives and is thought of as the secret to happiness. It can help us push towards a prosperous enterprise. It’s been proven to assist parents have healthier and smarter children. Smiling makes us physically appealing, and our relationships will normally run smoother. Besides, nobody likes to hang out with a party pooper. So what’s gone so wrong with positive thinking concept that we’ve had such a difficult time adopting it?

    Myths

    • Positive Thinking is Magical. Just believe and all of your fantasies will come true. Just think positive thoughts and everything will fall into place immediately, and you’ll decrease stress immediately. This is so outlandish that we have trouble believing such things occur. As far as I know, nobody has discovered the Genie lamp, yet. It isn’t that positive thinking can’t change your life and feel like magic. It’s worked wonders in my life, bringing my fantasies into reality. But there was no magic involved. Thinking and believing that my desires can all come true has pushed me into the hard work, creativity and attention required to make them happen. The thought did not bring about the final outcome. The idea brought me to where I had been willing and ready to make the necessary commitments and perform the tasks to bring about the final results.
    • You can just turn it on. From now on, just think positive and observe your perfect life unfold. Ignore the negative ideas altogether. Have you read enough novels to believe that this can occur? Have you ever solved,”From today on, I am more confident”? How long did this resolution last? You can not simply shut off your mind, or opt not to consider something. Here’s an exercise to prove it: Don’t think about a pink elephant. Consider anything you want, not a pink elephant. OK, what are you considering? The term positive thinking is misleading. Perhaps a better way to say it’s Positive Filter. As opposed to attempting to un-think something, change the filter where these ideas enter the mind. We’re surrounded by negativity, but we could decide not to take it in. We’re surrounded by as much positivity, and we can decide to concentrate on that instead. It’s what you decide to concentrate on making anything a negative or positive experience. The challenge is to make it all plausible so that your mind accomplishes this as an attitude in life, instead of a mere occasional exercise. For instance, instead of thinking of somebody else’s shortcomings, how can you think of her or his triumphs? And if there are not any, can you concentrate on incredible folks who do wonders? Rather than talking all of your misfortunes and gossiping with a buddy, can you speak about your hopes and dreams as well as the joyful changes in your life, or a current favorable or funny experience? Rather than focusing on not having a job or just how hard it is to find one, can you choose to concentrate on opportunities in your life or how it is possible to open more doors? Or concentrate on the gratitude for items you have in your life, (family, friends, health, abilities, anything). This will provide you the essential condition of mind to have peace in any given circumstance.
    • Becoming a positive thinker is a fun experience. The simple truth is that negativity is a deep seated habit, and like all such customs, it’s tough to break. It’s a basis for a lot of our other destructive behaviors. Are you really prepared to kick the habit? Why is it so tough to give up a habit of negativity? Like all of our fundamental behaviours, it’s known and familiar, which means it’s comfortable. But what if you had been told some custom of yours is creating havoc in your life and it’s harmful to both your physical and mental health? Would you change it? Additionally it is tricky to change from negative to positive because a lot of our negativity is tied to our self-image. What we think to be true about ourselves and others about us, what we were told when we were young, what we know says and does. It simply feels unnatural to let go of that which we know to be true. We might even feel absurd and disingenuous initially. We’ll be such oddballs! Furthermore, a number people are tied to our nearest and dearest through negativity. It’s what we talk about, what we experience together and there’s a fear that letting go of negativity will cost us too dearly. Negative thinking is a breeding ground for lots of our other unhealthy behaviours which we might not be prepared to give up: overeating, smoking, procrastination, various addictions, chaotic relationships, etc.. So what is to be completed in face of such a challenge? Take tiny steps and do not expecting overnight modifications, for a start. Here are a few things you can do immediately. First, know positive thinking can be as infectious as negative thinking. Be the leader in your circle, possibly, to change the conversation or just make a bright monitoring on dark themes. You might also need to decide that some individuals can be too toxic, and it could be time to limit the time or intensity of some of your relationships. Or you might need to take more control of those relationships and set some boundaries. The point is, you might need to give up a couple of things to be the person you want to be. Reevaluating relationships is a part of it. This isn’t necessarily enjoyable, and it can be a tricky job, but well worth it if you’re prepared to recreate your life.
    •  A positive attitude means thinking everything is nice no matter what. There are realities in the world; a number of them are not very pretty. How do you find some peace of mind and joy in this world? If you discover nothing good about a circumstance, then concentrate on the solution and do it. This is a direct boost to your mental condition! If there isn’t any solution, and there are no positive aspects to your own thought, then you might have to reevaluate the subjects on which you would like to concentrate, and why you choose to concentrate on them. Practicing positive thinking means expecting happiness, joy, health and a successful outcome of each situation and action. It means expecting favorable effects, yet allowing ourselves to prepare and be at peace with all the sudden, unintended or apparently unsatisfactory. It’s healthy and normal to prepare ourselves for scenarios that are less than perfect. The purpose is to learn how to deal with any situation or challenge that comes our way. Rather than thinking and focusing about only the results, make every trip as enjoyable as possible. Favorable outcomes are more likely when we select the brighter path. Turning a blind eye to reality and giving caution to the wind isn’t a indication of positive thinking! It’s known as denial, which is a symptom of negativity. A negative thinker might not need to see the possibility of adverse outcomes or dismiss difficulties. A positive thinker will look at all aspects of a particular situation – challenges, potential end results, limits, etc. – and find ways to work together, or trust herself or himself to manage things successfully.

    Conclusion

Developing a positive state of mind may take some time but I found it to be both enjoyable and meaningful. Some of the tools I’m using are routine affirmations, creative visualization, positive self-talk, expressing gratitude, a vision board and prayers. Each of these techniques has to be learned and used correctly to be effective. Easy and practical methods to begin more positive thinking at this time is to surround yourself with happy and positive people, read inspirational literature, see just uplifting movies, avoid negative media messages and unsatisfied men and women.

Another powerful resource you can use on your own is self-hypnosis and meditation records. Such products help you embrace the lifestyle you want and provide you a boost when you need it. And always feel free to abide by the age-old information: “If you can not say anything nice, say nothing.” Don’t be responsible for starting or continuing negative thoughts, which spread like wild fire and are deadly and infectious. Remember, the most important part of creating the change to be a positive person and to take some positive thinking habits: it is a decision, and it’s your choice to create it, over and over again.
