Do Essential Oils Treat Headaches?

You are stuck in traffic on your way home from work. You’re an hour late getting home in time to make dinner. Your children are bugging you. Now you have a massive headache. We have all experienced a headache at one time or another in our lives. One can be caused by stress, sugar, hormones, or high blood pressure. I have been known to take more than the recommended daily dose during stressful times. The liver’s function in our bodies is to cleanse our blood and help us metabolize drugs and chemicals. There are so many chemicals in our bodies. It’s bad enough to eat the chemicals we don’t know about. But it’s worse when we eat the ones we do know. People are turning to alternative medicine to replace drugs.

The results of a double-blinded placebo crossover study at Christian-Albrecht University, Kiel, Germany showed that oils were effective in relieving tension headaches caused by acetaminophen. The oils can support circulation, reduce muscle spasms, and reduce inflammatory effects.
