How To Naturally Gain Digestive Health?

Your digestive health will determine your overall physical and psychological wellbeing. This is because...

Two weeks ago, I had my first severe headache. It lasted almost half an hour. It was because I had not slept well the night before and that I was already stressed at work. I took a painkiller that time and felt relief within an hour. That was it. I had a painful headache for two days so I took painkillers. My superior told me that I needed to get home early the next day so that I could get enough sleep and not have those headaches again. To my surprise, the headaches continue to come despite my renewed commitment to sleeping enough.

    Stress Level

It was the stress level at work that caused me to take the much-deserved one-week leave. The headaches would not stop. I was alarmed at my situation and immediately went to the hospital for a medical check-up. My doctor first asked me to describe to him my experience with headaches. I shared with him my job and how I was often tired, as well as how the stress in the office had contributed to the headaches. I also mentioned to him the constant headaches, especially at midday, and the severe and persistent pain I feel in the front and back of my head.

After further questioning, he sent my to undergo laboratory tests and to have my head scanned to see if there was a tumor. My doctor informed me that my chronic headaches could be what is commonly known as tension headaches, based on the results that were available that day.

    Tension Headaches

Although the exact causes of tension headaches are unknown, recent studies suggest that poor posture and tension in the neck, back, and shoulders may be the culprits. In the end, he advised me to correct my posture and to change my office and home position. A massage session was also recommended by the doctor. Finally, I was prescribed Butalbital as a muscle relaxant. I was forbidden from slouching.

My posture must be correct both while standing and seated. I would prefer to be more conscious of maintaining a good posture. Although I forget sometimes, it was easier for me to do than to suffer from chronic headaches. I liked the idea of being “prescribed” to get a massage. Finally, I have a reason to do something that I have been wanting to do for so many years but have put off. I consider getting a massage a matter of life or death.

    Conclusion

However, that would be a little exaggerated. I have always wanted the opportunity to visit the new spa center in our office. The massage is the best I have ever received, aside from the Butalbital which has greatly contributed to relieving my pain. This experience was a wake-up call. I realized that I was taking my health for granted. Only after I had to suffer the consequences did I realize how fragile my health was. It was not too late to make a change.
