How To Relieve Tinnitus?

Tinnitus, a frustrating condition that causes ringing in the ears or in the head, is a frustrating and annoying health condition. Although it is most commonly characterized by a ringing sound it can also cause a whistling, buzzing, roaring, or whistling sound.

Did you know?

Sometimes, this condition can lead to loss of hearing. Hearing loss is usually caused by the patient not being capable of hearing outside sounds that are similar to the imaginary sound they hear. Objective tinnitus can be classified as subjective tinnitus. If the patient has objective tinnitus the clinician can also hear the sound if he carefully observes.

This is usually caused by muscle spasms, an increase in blood flow, or turbulence close to the patient’s ears. Subjective tinnitus, also known as tinnitus, is more common. Subjective tinnitus can be caused by exposure to loud noises or sounds of very high intensity. High doses of medications such as aspirin or diuretics can also cause tinnitus.

Let’s see…

Tinnitus can also be caused by blockages in the ears, medical conditions like acoustic neuritis, healing loss due to changes in the inner ear structure in old age, and damage to the inner ear cells. Tinnitus remedies can range from home remedies to surgical treatment. These can only be applied after a proper diagnosis. Sometimes the condition cannot be completely cured, but it can be reduced to a great extent.

  • Stress reduction – Tinnitus symptoms can be worsened by stress.
  • Use white noise – Any sound that is not loud enough, such as slow and pleasant music or the sound of a fan, can be used to reduce the phantom noises of tinnitus. An audiologist will be able to adjust the sound frequency to best suit the patient.
  • Protection against loud noises – It is recommended to use earplugs to protect your ears from noises such as clubs and discos. This will not only reduce the symptoms but also prevent the onset and progression of tinnitus.
  • Removal of earwax- Tinnitus can be caused by a buildup of earwax. This can be done to reduce the symptoms.
  • The use of specific drugs, vitamins, and herbs – Some drugs or herbs can reduce symptoms while others can aggravate them. A practitioner should be consulted to determine which drugs to take and which ones to avoid.

Final note

Alternative treatments such as acupuncture can also be used to treat tinnitus. Even though they are no longer effective, surgical methods can still be used.
