The maxillary sinus, one of the four paranasal ones, is located in the upper jaw area just behind the cheekbones. Maxillary sinus infection can occur when the mucus from maxillary sinus is not allowed to drain. This can lead to deep-seated sinusitis that is difficult to treat. Flu and cold, fungal infections and deviated septum are all common causes of infection.

Dental problems like infected gums or teeth, as well as dental problems, such as infected teeth and gums, can also be caused by infection. Home remedies may be able to provide relief for some cases of maxillary sinus infection.

    • Nasal irrigation – This is a natural treatment for maxillary sinus infections. You will need a 10mL plastic needle, a teaspoon and cup, and 100mL sodium bicarbonate powder as the main ingredient. To make a solution, mix a teaspoon of the powder with a cup water. Fill the syringe and use it to inject the contents in one nostril. Then, let it out in the other nostril. The remaining solution and mucus can be blown out as gently as you can. Next, repeat the process starting with the other nostril. If a syringe cannot be used, a neti pot is an alternative.
    • Garlic – Natural antifungal and antibiotic properties can help to treat maxillary sinus infection, which is often caused by fungal or bacterial infestation. It can be used by steeping one clove in hot tea. For a more productive result, you should do this at least three times per day.
    • Food allergies can also cause diet-related maxillary sinus infections. You can clear your condition quickly by removing certain foods from your diet. Avoid eating eggs, peanuts, dairy products, chocolate, milk products, bananas and corn if you have a chronic maxillary sinus infection. If you are unsure of the cause, consult your doctor for a blood test.
    • Apple Cider Vinegar is a natural remedy for many ailments. Apple cider vinegar, just like garlic, has natural antifungal, antibacterial, and can help reduce the production of mucus. Sinus infections can be relieved by using vaporizers, which use warm steam vapors. This can help thin the mucus that is thickened by sinus infections. It can also soothe the membranes and provide full relief.
