Kidney calculi, also known as renal calculi, are solid concretions or crystal aggregations that form in the kidneys from dissolved minerals. Kidney stones can cause blood in the urine and sometimes severe pain in the abdomen or flank. There are two possible causes of renal colic: nausea and vomiting.

    Kidney stones

These may contain various chemicals. Based on the type and composition of the crystals, there are many types of kidney stones. Calcium oxalate stones are the most common, followed by calcium-phosphate stones. Rarely, struvite stone is produced by urea-splitting bacteria. People with urinary tract infections and people with metabolic abnormalities may also produce uric acid or cystine stones.

Urolithiasis, a medical term that describes stones found in the urinary tract, is used. Three times more men than women are likely to develop kidney stones within their urinary tract. There isn’t consensus on why kidney stones form. Heredity: Kidney stones can form in people who are more likely to have them. High levels of calcium in the urine are a risk factor for kidney stones. High levels of calcium in the urine can be passed down from one generation to another. Some people are also predisposed to developing kidney stones due to rare hereditary conditions.

    Location

Kidney stones will be more common in the future due to rising global temperatures. Poor fluid intake and hot climates can lead to people becoming dehydrated. This can cause their urine to become more concentrated, which allows chemicals to come into contact with each other to form the nidus or stones. Diuretics and people who take excessive calcium-containing antacids may increase the calcium levels in their urine, which can lead to a higher risk of developing stones. High levels of calcium can also be caused by excessive intake of vitamins A, D and E. Dilantin and antibiotics are two other medications that can cause stone formation.

Are There Herbal Remedies For Premature Ejaculation?

There are many factors that increase the likelihood of developing kidney stones. These include inadequate fluid intake, dehydration, decreased urinary volume, chemical levels in the urine, and medical conditions like reflux, medullary kidney sponge, renal tubular acidosis, and urinary tract infections. Any activity that reduces or blocks the flow of urine can also increase the risk. High levels of calcium, cystine and oxalate in the urine are all risk factors. Stones can also be caused by low levels of citrate.

    Good to know

These medical conditions can also increase the risk of kidney stones: Arthritis and colitis, Gout, Hyperparathyroidism and Medullary sponge renal disease, Renal tubular acidosis and Urinary tract infections, Intestinal disorders that cause chronic diarrhea, dehydration and low citrate as well as urinary tract infections. Many kidney stones are too small and do not move. If a kidney stone becomes lodged in the ureter or causes a blockage, the patient may feel severe pain or ache. The pain caused by kidney stones, also known as renal colic, can be severe. It occurs as soon as the kidney stones become stuck in the bladder and usually comes in waves. It is not always related to the size of the kidney stones – sometimes smaller stones can cause more pain than larger ones. Kidney stones can sometimes cause symptoms like difficulty urinating and urinary urgency.

    Home remedies

You can dissolve small stones and pass them out by using some Ayurvedic remedies along with home remedies.

    • Water: Get at least 10-12 glasses of water per day.
