What age can migraines start in childhood? Childhood migraines are a common reality that is often not recognized. According to reports, 25% of children in the UK may have migraines. These children are mostly between 7 and 15 years old. Six years is the average age at which migraines begin in children.
Premonitory symptoms, such as mood changes, appetite, thirst, and arousal, are the most common signs of migraines in children. Other symptoms include sensitivity to light, photophobia, phonophobia, sound, gastrointestinal problems, fatigue and depression.
Although you can manage your Migraine symptoms, there is no permanent cure. There are many treatments that can be used to treat migraines. These include painkillers, acupuncture, osteopathy and yoga.
