What Causes Migraine Headaches With Nausea?

Migraine headaches can be very debilitating. They can also include nausea and vomiting. Two adolescents were diagnosed with “Cyclic Vomiting syndrome” recently. One of the patients was a 16-year-old female and the other was a 14-year-old male. Both were affected by frequent migraines, nausea, vomiting, and had to miss school for several days. One patient had to be tutored at home as he was unable to attend school for weeks.

What Is Happening?

After several examinations by conventional doctors, nothing was found in their GI tract. They were then given antiemetic drugs and migraine meds (to prevent vomiting). My male patient even agreed to have his appendix removed and had surgery! Both patients still suffered from the same headaches and nausea. Both patients suffered from insomnia and circadian rhythm problems. As time passed, the medical doctors couldn’t find any evidence so they assumed my patients were either lying or mentally disturbed.

They prescribed powerful antidepressants and counseling to no avail. When I first met my patients, I was shocked to see their sad state. Worse, other professionals thought they were crazy. I fixed their diet as soon as possible. Both patients were eating too many carbohydrate-rich and sugary foods. This led to hormonal imbalances and poor digestion over time.

Foods

Although society accepts these foods as the norm, their toxic effects are not. Sugar should be considered a drug. It can give you a sugar high by stimulating the brain receptors similar to heroin. Then it causes you to crash in a carbohydrate stupor. We crave more to feel better and less irritable. Although we are now realizing the dangers of long-term addiction, it is still accepted and common in American diets. To heal, the body requires proper building blocks.

These patients weren’t getting them. I also needed to improve their digestive system to ensure they absorbed the food they ate. Digestive process begins with chewing and enzymes found in the saliva. It then travels down the esophagus and into the stomach where it needs an acidic environment for protein to be broken down. The right mix of bile from your gallbladder and other enzymes coming from the pancreas allows nutrients to be absorbed into the small intestine.

Ολισμός

Since many years, holistic professionals have known that the gut flora is an important symbiotic organism in us. Both patients had a history involving antibiotic use that affected their flora. Asking patients about their stool is a common component of medical doctors’ visits, especially if the patient is suffering from migraine headaches. I provided supplements to these patients to help them regain their digestive ability and absorb food properly.

The spinal cord is the last thing we should look at. It has nerves that run between the vertebrae. This is the two-way communication that occurs between the brain and the rest. Communication is hindered if the vertebra don’t move properly. This is similar to a general who cannot communicate with his troops. The brain and the digestive system are not communicating with one another. This could be a sign of malabsorption.

Poor Nutrition

However, it may also be a result of poor nutrition. These spinal nerves can be thought of as circuit breakers. If an organ becomes too full (due to poor nutrition and diet), it shuts itself down. This is like a safety valve, or a disobedient child, to prevent further damage. This also prevents healing. This was the final piece of this puzzle. It required that both patients were corrected in their structural alignment.

Recovery time is affected by several factors. It takes several months to change the diet, with very few adjustments. The patient’s age is also important. Patients who are younger respond to treatment more quickly than those who are older. Compliance levels can also vary between patients. Some people, driven to improve their lives after years and years of misery, can adapt quickly and with great success.
