Was ist die heilende Kraft des Gehirns?

In a public library in Bridgeport, Connecticut, I gave a fifteen-minute talk on how the way people think affects their health. The World’s Greatest Treasury of Health Secrets, bottom line variant,’ was my reference book. Standing an inch behind a propped-up mic, I started. Two healing tools are commonly recognized.

Drugs are the most popular instrument that doctors and clinicians use to treat disorders. Drugs continue to save lives daily. There are many illnesses where the use of medication is indispensable. However, drugs aren’t cheap, and are inclined to be persistent quick fixes. Several medications have many harmful side effects. Another tool, which is readily accessible, less costly, more lasting and free of side effects, is the usage of their brain’s healing power.

Yes, our mind does have therapeutic capabilities. Positive thinkers see circumstances and scenarios from a optimistic viewpoint. They’re never bogged down by issues. Regardless of what comes their way, they get up and keep forging ahead. Such a brave soul enhances the body’s immune or immune system and contributes to a healthy body, where diseases are in check. Practice using positive thinking by pivoting back to memories of your individual and family strengths, blessings and abilities.

A great hearty laugh shakes the body with the exact same strength as a fast walking exercise. Like in positive thinking, laughter also offers a means of decreasing life stress while boosting body resistance. Through the external senses of touch, hearing, taste and vision we can lower our blood pressure, reduce our stress and boost our immune systems.

In that moment my entire body was wrapped in euphoria which lasted many days following the event, triggering me to discuss my experience. For another segment of my conversation, I flipped to the other side of my demonstration board.

The brain

The human brain doesn’t differentiate between an actual event and a psychological event. To put it differently, the mind responds to an imaginary event as it were actually happening. For instance, in the reference book mentioned previously, people who watched a movie set in a desert became thirsty and drank more fluids, like they had been in the desert. Our emotion matters while stressing family troubles, work difficulties or money issues. The end result, whether imagined or real, leads the mind to produce stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, both of which can lead to high blood pressure, anxiety, depression and abnormal heartbeats.

Learning how to deal with a stressful situation is lifesaving. Though the audience was composed of regular women and men, some kids too, they were very engaged in the conversation. How often should I meditate daily? How often do you meditate? I told her that we could meditate as many times as we like. Life is a journey, and everyone is in a different point on the journey. I meditate on the move as needed, and much more at night before I go to bed. For early risers, early morning is an excellent time to meditate – before the children wake up and the day’s craziness begins.
