My 13-year-old daughter stormed into my bedroom screaming, “Mom! Mom! Mom! I have pimples all across my face! Please make them go !!!” My husband and me looked at each other. We were initially relieved that there wasn’t a fire in our house, but then our expressions changed to “Honey, do something!”

    Let’s see…

This is not my area and you are the skin care doctor’ in our house. I looked at my daughter’s pimple-filled eyes and said, “OK, Alena. I’ll have something for you when you get home from school.” Whew! There’s nothing like a little pressure. I gave her a few St. John’s Wort pills after she left for school. I made a bee-line to my herbal laboratory.

I will share my natural acne remedy with y’all so you have ammunition in case your teen invades your room. But first, let’s learn a bit about acne before we get into the recipe. Acne refers to a skin condition that causes blackheads, whiteheads or pimples to block the pores of the skin. It is the most common skin problem.

    Acne causes

Acne is not caused by dirty skin. Acne is caused by an increase in testosterone, a male sex hormone that stimulates the skin’s production of sebum or oil. Stress, heredity, oily skin and the overgrowth of Candida albicans are all factors that can contribute to acne development. My daughter had acne vulgaris, which is Latin for “common” acne. This form of acne is most common in puberty, when the body produces the most testosterone.

If you have any concerns about acne or any other medical condition, you should consult your doctor immediately. My personal belief is that God has given us so many natural resources, so if I can find a solution right from Mother Earth, it is possible. Acne is one of those conditions where I prefer to find a natural remedy. However, I can tell you that most conventional treatments for acne include large doses vitamin A and antibiotics. Each has its own drawbacks.

    Take into account

Antibiotics can cause digestive problems and other side effects if taken for prolonged periods. Vitamin A supplements are generally safe if taken as directed. However, overdose can cause liver damage and birth defects. Accutane (isotretinoin) is a prescription for severe acne. It can cause miscarriage, multiple birth defects, and problems with the liver, intestines and skeletal system. These risks are not present in herbal treatments.

      How To Remove Pimples?

Some herbs for acne can be used topically, while others can be used internally. Let’s get started on your herbal acne remedy. There are many herbs that can be used to treat acne. Many of the herbs I use for skin treatments are available in essential oils.

    Essential oils

These are concentrated extracts from plants, so a single drop can often be equivalent to an entire ounce of the plant. I have also noted that other ingredients can be found in the form oil or gel. All of these ingredients can be purchased at your local nutrition shop or online. A 1 ounce bottle and a dropper are also required. You will need a small bowl or a plastic bowl to mix the serum. I will also explain how to use a small spoon to stir and a sandwich bag later. Here’s a list of ingredients that we will use in our natural remedy.

    • Aloe Vera gel: This is the base of our acne serum. About 1 oz will be required. You should only use organic ingredients. Only 100% Aloe vera gel. Aloe vera gel is one of the miracle herbs that can be used in natural skin care products. Aloe gel is mildly anesthetic and relieves itching, swelling, and pain. Aloe vera gel is also a natural remedy for scarring and cell damage. Aloe vera gel also contains bradykininase (carboxypeptidase) and bradykininase (bradykininase), which reduce inflammation, pain, redness, and swelling. Clinical studies have shown that aloe vera gel can speed up the healing of skin conditions like burns and cuts. This is three times faster than if they were treated with non-medicated dressings or chemical antiseptic gels.
    • Evening Primrose oil: Add one-half (1/2) of an evening primrose oil to the 1 oz aloe vera jelly in your small bowl. If you’re using capsules, open 5 capsules and use a needle to squeeze the oil into a bowl. Evening primrose, a wildflower, is found in North America, Europe, and parts of Asia. We use it in our serum because the oil from the seeds of this plant, which open in the evening, is rich in essential oils and is highly valued by nutritionists for its healing properties. It is one the richest sources of gamma linoleic acids (GLA), which is an essential fatty acid (of omega 6 family) with anti-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory properties. It is truly a blessing from nature.
    • Lavender essential oil: Add 5 drops of lavender essential oil to the bowl. Two compounds in lavender essential oil, linalool & linalyl aldehyde, help to heal skin conditions such as acne. Linalool increases pain threshold, which means that pain must be felt before it can be felt. Lavender not only stops pain perception but also blocks the hormone reactions that cause inflammation and pain. Lavender protects the skin against fungal and bacterial infection.
    • Tea Tree Essential Oil: Add 5 drops of the tea tree oil to the bowl. The tea tree is native to Australia. It can reach a height of 20 to 25 feet, produces layers of paper-like bark, and bears white flowers and pointed leaves. The leaves of this tree were used as an antiseptic for centuries by the natives long before Europeans arrived. The disinfectant properties of tea tree were soon recognized. A clinical study of 124 patients with acne found that tea tree oil gel was just as effective as benzoylperoxide for treating acne. The side effects of prescription treatments were also lower than those of tea tree.
    • Rosemary essential oil: Add 5 drops of rosemary essential oils to the bowl. Rosemary is a wonderful herb. It is a natural preservative which means that your acne serum will last a long time. Rosemary stimulates and increases circulation, which allows small wounds to heal more quickly. It also reduces inflammation, which makes acne blemishes much less visible and speeds up the healing process. It promotes even skin tone, improves cell respiration, and acts as an anti-oxidant mild. Use your spoon to stir the mixture until it is well combined. Place the mixture in a small sandwich bag. Take one corner off the sandwich bag and place the mixture in a dropper bottle.
    • Witch Hazel: Witch Hazel is a natural astringent that also tones the skin. After wiping your skin with witch hazel, take a dropper from your bottle and use it to apply a small amount of your serum to your fingers. The serum should be applied twice daily to the affected areas.
