Acne
Acne is caused by oily secretions, called sebum, getting trapped under the skin’s surface in a canal called a “follicle”. The follicle is a narrow area that runs from your oil glands to your skin’s pores. The follicle is also where hair grows. If hair and sebum get stuck in the follicle, bacteria can grow. These bacteria are responsible for swelling and reddening.
Many commercial treatments use an anti-bacterial active ingredient. Many of the ingredients in the recipes above have anti-bacterial properties, but they are also natural. All the above-mentioned remedies and commercial products take time to work, so be patient and continue to apply the treatment. If all else fails, there is one rule that will always work: Never pop your pimple.
