    I have suffered from urinary tract infections for many decades and have spent a lot time searching for natural home remedies. I tried many medications to treat my bladder infections, both prescription and over the counter. None of the medications worked long-term, and I’m not lying.

    My infections kept returning. I was only able to find relief when I started looking into natural remedies. Here are the five pillars that I use for home treatment of UTIs. These are my five pillars of my home treatment for UTIs. I hope they will help you get rid your own. Cranberry Juice – Most people are aware that cranberry juice can be used to treat infections. However, I don’t believe enough people consume it regularly.

    Researchers believe this juice may prevent bacteria from settling in your bladder and could even be used as mild antibiotics. To get rid of my UTIs, I used to drink between two and four glasses per day. I found regular juice too bitter so I tried cranberry juice cocktail. It worked just as well. After I had my infections under control I stopped drinking more than 4 ounces per day. This juice works well for me. However, if you feel that this home treatment for UTIs is not effective for you, it is a good idea to consult your doctor.

    • Blueberries – Because blueberries and cranberries come from the same family of plants, they have the same ability for inhibiting bacteria. Blueberries are a staple in my morning breakfast cereal. I consume them at least four times per week.
    • Pineapple – Bromelain is an enzyme found in pineapple that works with antibiotics to treat a bladder infection. It is not clear how it works but I have found it to be very helpful so I eat pineapple slices regularly.
    • Baking soda – I add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and a glass water to ease any symptoms I feel like I have a UTI. Baking soda neutralizes the acidity in urine which aids in the recovery process.
    • Water – This is a must. You should drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day if you don’t do any other. Water will flush out bad bacteria from your body. I drink 8 ounces water every hour if I feel like I have a UTI. This ensures that I urinate every four- to five hours and gets rid of any bacteria.
