Acne is the most severe and common skin problem. It is also known scientifically as acne vulgaris. Acne refers to the appearance of acne on the skin’s surface due to the clogging of oil from the hair follicles under the skin (also known as sebum). It can be caused by hormonal changes and/or excessive oil secretion from oil glands. Acne affects almost everyone and usually occurs in adolescence.

    Hormonal Factor

The body experiences hormonal fluctuations during teen years or pre-teen years. These hormonal fluctuations can cause an excessive production of oil under your skin and its outburst, which is commonly known as pimples, blackheads, or white heads. Acne problems can also be linked to poor eating habits.

Acne is most common on the areas where oil glands are concentrated. These areas include the face, neck, chest, back, chest, shoulders, and chest. These skin problems affect both boys and girls in different ways. It is a myth, however, that dirt causes acne. Acne can form when pores are blocked under the skin. Dirt is not the problem. However, if the skin is touched with germ-laden finger tips, it can worsen. Other factors, such as hereditary, medications, cosmetics containing oils, nutritional deficiencies, high stress levels, and certain medications, can also contribute to acne problems.
