Every day there seems to be a new supplement on the market. And it is always capable of doing amazing things. It can reduce baldness, improve your joints, and enhance your sex life. I’m so tired of these absurd claims, I don’t even bother to read them anymore.
Bee pollen
Pollen supplements did catch my attention. I will explain why. I won’t mention any health benefits. Because this is what I found most fascinating, I will only discuss a few facts about the nutritional content bee pollen. Let me start by saying that the human body needs many different nutrients, minerals and vitamins. In fact, your body requires 28 different nutrients.
These are molecules that the body cannot make but requires. It is interesting to note that only two foods contain all 28 nutrients: raw honey and bee-pollen. We now know that bee pollen is the only food that contains all 28 essential nutrients. There are many foods that are rich in vitamins, and no one is disputing that.
Nutritional facts
However, not all foods contain all the essential nutrients your body needs. Natural honey bee pollen contains all 18 of them. It is easy to see why this amazing food is so popular. High quality bee pollen is rich in all the minerals the body needs, as well as all the amino acids, fats, enzymes, co-enzymes, and other nutrients. It also contains good amounts of carbohydrates and 59 trace elements.
When people think of protein, they think of meat and especially beef. Ironically, the protein content in beef is lower than that of pollen. It’s actually 50% lower than the pollen’s protein content. As you can see, I stayed true to my word that I have not discussed potential health benefits. It is important to find a high-quality supplement if you decide to include pollen in your daily food. Even though bee pollen’s nutritional value is amazing, contamination can still cause serious health problems.
